Dundalk Photographic Society have won the 2004-2005 Irish Photographic Federation National Colour Slide Competition. The competition was held recently in Limerick and judged by eminent judges from Scotland. Not alone did the society scoop the major club award but member Colm Kane also won the special 'Judges Medal' for best overall image, a magnificent achievement.

Mid Louth Club also performed extremely well, finishing in third place, well ahead of some of the larger camera clubs in the country such as Dublin and Drogheda.
Final scores-
First Dundalk - 198 points
Second Mallow - 190 points
Third Mid-Louth - 189 points
On
the same weekend in Limerick another Irish Photographic Federation Competition
was held- the National Print Competition 2005.
This is a competition for individual photographers and once again Dundalk
members did extremely well, taking home an amazing four out of the six medals
on offer.
Gabriel O'Shaughnessy was star of the show, winning the IPF Gold medal in
the monochrome section for his delightful print 'Jack and the Lady'. Gabriel
also won a bronze medal in the colour print section. Denis Whelehan was a
silver medal winner in the colour print section, whilst Tony McDonnel took
home the bronze medal in the monochrome print section.
Once again it was a great weekend for the leading camera club in the country.
