2005 Annual Weekend Away
|

In
2005 DPS decided to head to the Dingle Peninsula in Co. Kerry for more
adventure
|
Once again DPS had a wonderful annual weekend away in early september 2005 when the crew ventured far south to the beautiful Dingle Peninsula in the Kingdom of Kerry. Everyone stayed in the Smerwick Harbour hotel and it was a perfect base to be able to easily head off around the peninsula and take full advantage of the breath-taking scenery and colourful characters that abound in the area. The hotel was situated on the Slea Head Drive & was just 3 miles (4.8km) from the picturesque fishing town of Dingle. Also within handy driving distance were the areas of Ballyferriter, Inch beach, Annascaul & Ventry - perfect fodder for any photographic excursion.
As you can see from the photgraphs below a great time was had by all, both by night and day. Individuals & groups tried various courses of action over the weekend. Some decided to investigate the mountainous scenery, some the historic sites and some the local towns & villages (including their pubs of course). Others were a little more adventurous and hired a boat to photograph the wildlife around the Blasket Islands, while others decided to visit the remote islands themselves.
All in all, it was a wonderful weekend, blessed by fabulous weather and everyone is looking forward to next years trip already.
