Dundalk Photographic Society won the 2005 National Shield Final which took place on Sunday 13th November 2005 in County Wexford. Judges for the event were Mr. Kevin Thomas, M.A. F.R.P.S. ,Cardiff, South Wales & Mr. Roy Thomas, APAGB, Glamorgan , South Wales. Over two hundred people attended on the day with 22 clubs, from as far afield as Mallow, Castlebar, Clones and Dublin taking part in the competition. It was a very close fought battle with Dundalk pipping Celbridge and Mountmellick Camera Clubs to take the honours.
Along with the team success, panelist Denis Smyth received a Highly Commended in the Monochrome Print section and panelist Niall McEntegart received a Silver medal in the Monochrome Print section. The DPS Panel topped the Monochrome Print section on the day.
The days events also included judging of 45 individual panels for distinctions with 26 of the panels being successful & the launch of the IPF Year Book for 2006.
